Re: PAx - DBRW/DBRS only when requested
Automatic. I do still want standard excel formulas to work.

Re: PAx - DBRW/DBRS only when requested
It is about 1 second delay every time I key in a number and hit enter. Doesn't seem like much, but it is. There are a few thousand formulas on the sheet, half of those are TM1. Disconnecting from PAx doesn't change anything, which makes me thing it is excel. Never had this problem with SAP excel add...

Re: PAx - DBRW/DBRS only when requested
Weirdly enough, I unnested 70% of the formulas and see no difference in performance. I think it is just the sheer number of formulas on a sheet that effects the performance, not nesting.

Re: PAx - DBRW/DBRS only when requested
Thank you.
It looks like I can easily unnest DBRWs.
Question on DBRSs - obviously hard-coding values is not efficient. If my DBRS formulas are referencing another cell for "send" value - is this considered nesting as well?
Thanks.

Re: PAx - DBRW/DBRS only when requested
Thanks!
It is a bummer though, cause nesting gets me the efficiency. I'll try to reorganize everything and see if I can build it in a similar way with no nesting.

PAx - DBRW/DBRS only when requested
Hi, I have an excel file with a lot of DBRW/DBRS formulas (roughly 1000 on each tab). Most of these are also nested in other standard excel formulas. The file works great, except can be very slow at times. Is there a way to make BBRW/DBRS formulas work only when you want them to, and not contentious...

Re: PAX dependent drop down lists
"TM1ELLIST" - How does one actually use this in excel? How do I create a drop-down that displays members of a give dimension?

Re: Retrieving member name by alias
Try using a scan and subst function to find the hyphen between the code and description then subst to chop from the right to the end. If your codes are all uniform in length, you can subst from character 8 onwards (or wherever the description starts) Thanks again, I check out the syntax for subset....

Re: Retrieving member name by alias
You can try using: DBRA(<dimension name>,<element>,<alias>) e.g DBRA('Account','5010','Account Description') if in Perspectives (hoping PAX too) or in rules, use ATTRS(<dimension name>,<element>,<alias>) HTH Thank you!!! Exactly what I was looking for. The result I'm getting now is "5010 - Com...

Re: Retrieving member name by alias
Apart from your question, wouldn’t be 5001 the element and salaries overtime the alias ? Good point, shows my lack of understand TM1 infrastructure. So, based on attached, my alias ID is "5010" and alias description is "Compensation - Salary? Am I looking at this right? And would wou...

Retrieving member name by alias
Sorry I’m completely new to IBM Planning and Analytics. I’m looking for a simple function that will retrieve full member name based on alias. Basically the equivalent of EVDES() in SAP. I found some examples with DIMIX and DIMNM, but can’t get those arguments to work. For example, say I have 5001 as...
