Re: Rule Erroring on Duplicative Dimension in DB Formula

Thanks for noticing the misspelling, but the error occurs earlier. Syntax error on or before: ' !Midstream Metrics , invalid string expression etc. See attached. I am fairly certain remaking the cube with a different name would work, but the cube owner has business reasons not to want to do that at ...

Re: Rule Erroring on Duplicative Dimension in DB Formula

Thanks for looking at my issue, but removing the brackets did not help. The issue is that the cube "Midstream Metrics" and one of its dimensions have the same name.

Rule Erroring on Duplicative Dimension in DB Formula

Hi All and Happy Friday! I am experiencing an issue with a rule that is trying to plug the difference between two cubes by rule. Unfortunately, the name of the first cube and one of its dimensions repeats, which causes the rule to error out. Normally in a rule you can call out the dimension in front...

PAX/PAW vs Other Planning Tools

We are an SAP (S4 HANA) shop that runs TM1 2.0.8 for our consolidations, reporting, and planning. We have been on TM1 in various versions for ten years and generally like the product. We may be upgrading to PAX and PAW next year to replace Perspectives and TM1 Web, but I wanted to know if anyone has...

Local Installation Crashes

Hi All, My company has offices in a few cities across America. Myself and my team have no issue using our local installation wherever we are, but the people in our other office always experience a crash whenever slicing or snapshotting from a cube view on their local installations. They can, however...

Re: Service Access Issues - New Box

Thanks. It turns out IT created an alias because they thought TM1 couldn't read hyphens for some reason. In fact, the service account couldn't read the server's alias, but could read its real name.

Service Access Issues - New Box

Hi All, I recently had my Dev service moved to a new box and supposedly all permissions were copied over correctly. Trouble is, when I run processes that either use text files on the Server as a data source or try to do an output file, the TI rejects it and I get the usual (Error: Prolog procedure l...

TM1 SAP Connector on 10.2.2 and PAX

Hi All, Our current TM1 installation is 10.2.2, which is fed by a nightly text file from SAP, version 7.5. We are in the process of upgrading TM1 to PAX as our SAP is revamped to S 4/HANA. Does anyone have experience using the TM1 SAP Connector in any iterations of these products? If so, have you ex...

Re: One vs Two Time Dimensions

Thank you, everyone, for these very helpful replies. Given that we do a lot of budget work and year-over-year analysis and very little rolling 12 month trending, there may not be much of an advantage in 1D from our business perspective. On a similar note, does anyone have thoughts, one way or the ot...

Re: One vs Two Time Dimensions

Thanks for this. Right now we are on 10.2.2, but are upgrading to PAx before our rebuild). We are actually restricted on RAM because it's allocated on a virtual server and IT is stingy with what they give.

One vs Two Time Dimensions

Hi All, We are in the process of rebuilding our TM1 setup as we upgrade our ERP. The subject came up as to whether one or two dimensions to measure time should be preferred. We currently have two, one for Year (2017, 2018, 2019 etc) and one for Period, which is an organization of months ( Jan, Feb, ...

Re: MDX Not Expanding Properly

It actually had to do with the attribute not being filled in for a single consolidation point where I was grabbing the elements below it, so it would show all the elements but break the hierarchy.

MDX Not Expanding Properly

Hi All, I have an MDX in an active form that is supposed to expand all elements within a dimension that have two particular attributes. With the exception of a few elements, they should generally belong to one sub-hierarchy (O&M - MB) under the main hierarchy (Consolidated EBITDA). Instead only ...

Process Stuck on Zero Out

I have a TI process that deletes the contents of a cube and reloads the data based on a CSV. The process worked until yesterday, when it failed immediately and gave me a "stack overflow error." I deleted the Feeder files and restarted my server hoping to clear up any corrupt Feeders. Now w...

Re: Audit Log Configuration

Tomok, I understand that. What I mean is that I think the log only goes back so far. I would like to expand how far back it retains transactions for future use.
