Re: MDX in TI to include additional group of the same dimension

Thanks for the explanation! It works, Thanks! May I ask when curly bracket is needed? Kenneth When the MDX function/property returns a member, not a set, the curly bracket defines it as a set. In your case with the TM1drilldownmember, it operates on each member of a set, so it requires a set definit...

The MDX function is UNION. You want to UNION your two results together.

MDX in TI to include additional group of the same dimension

Hi, By help I received here certain months ago I have the following MDX statement to drill down and filter to include only level 0 elements of a certain group in a dimension. It looks like this: sMDX = '{TM1FILTERBYLEVEL( TM1DRILLDOWNMEMBER( {[' | vDimName | '].[(PROPOSED BUDGET)]}, ALL, RECURSIVE),...

RuleLoadFromFile(Cube, TextFile) could be even quicker if it is just about reinstating the previously deleted rules

Noted. I'll back up and test the Rule append function to make sure.

I ask you to take into account that CubeRuleDestroy permanently deletes the file. for correct operation, before you perform this function, you must first copy the }elementattribute*.rux file to a temporary folder.

}ElementAttributes Rule and TI conflict

Hi, I have a budget element dimension with different alias sets, each set represents a department. The idea is to allow different alias for different departments using the same budget element. In the }ElementAttributes cube of the budget element, I put rules to fill the alias content from another cu...

Re: Tools to copy and rename TM1 object

I'm hoping there will be 3rd party tools that scan all the TM1 objects for find and replace so that I don't need Notepad++ in the end. I use different color and bold and underline in some of my rules and for some reason Notepad++ doesn't copy those format correctly. Thanks. Kenneth Hello Kenneth, To...

Tools to copy and rename TM1 object

Hi, I've been building a budget model and the objects are named with prefix ISOBMV1 with V1 being version number. I'm now on V4 and this is probably the last version before production. I'm close to a hundred objects (cube, dimension, rule and TI) I need to find some tools that allow me to rename the...

You need to manually add any new groups to TM1. Their group status is not then reflected until the logon when the link for the user is refreshed,

Jim.

User Set Up in Cognos Administration update TM1 User Group

Re: Feeder for cells with value based on rule

Thanks. For now I'll probably skip the skipcheck. The size of the cube is so small that there's no noticeable performance issue. This would be a very rare case as generally the values being used in the calculation should be coming from an assumptions or driver cube which could then be used to feed t...

Feeder for cells with value based on rule

Hi,

I have a small cube with cells which their value is populated by a few rules.

How to write feeder for these cells that is not based on another cell?

or is it better to omit skipcheck and feeder?

Thanks.

Re: Alias update and stargate view

I think updating an alias (like updating a rule) will purge all the affected stargates: rules use element aliases, so the calculated data may change after the "alias update". You can turn ON the stargate logging and see how "alias changing" affects the stargates. Sachin has described the stargate l...

Re: Alias update and stargate view

I'm not sure at this time about user activity as there's only one user in the instance for now. The alias update process takes 0.00s from start to finish so I believe this is not the problem. But I noticed every time after the alias update process is run, the input to report cube process (which incl...
