Re: Cube Loses Input Data From 10.2 to PA 2.0

I'm posting an update.

I removed cube and cell security rules reloaded cube from backup. The amount that was lost before is now available. It is strange because the missing data is restricted for input using cell security. I didn't expect cell security will affect this but it seems so.

Cube Loses Input Data From 10.2 to PA 2.0

Hi, I'm testing to upgrade from 10.2 to PA 2.0. For convenience, I copied all related 10.2 objects (cubes, dimensions, rules) and put it into a newly created instance in PA 2.0 then restarted the service. Upon checking cube data I realized a good amount of input data (hard data, not from rule nor TI...

Re: Configuration Directoy

Thanks for the reply. What's astonishing for me is how we got there, I mean, pointing to another directory that is created years later. Unfortunately I have no access to Cognos Configuration. Hopefully our back end will take care of this. Thanks for the advice. Kenneth Mind to share what you have be...

Re: Configuration Directoy

Mind to share what you have because I did spend an hour to research here and Google and the results are not helpful. The closest I got was: https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/en/SSD29G_2.0.0/com.ibm.swg.ba.cognos.tm1_inst.2.0.0.doc/c_locationofthetm1s.cfgfile_n15038e.html This is not someth...

Configuration Directoy

Hi all, I'm running 10.2. We have 2 instances on the same server. One called "Budget", and the other one called "BudgetTrain". I have cleaned up the data files in "BudgetTrain" (e:\data\budgettrain\cxmd). Then I realize in the "Budget" instance a long list of messages were found, after analyzing it ...

None whatsoever if the purpose of the view is to serve as a data source in a TI process. This function is only useful when creating views to be consumed in the cube viewer.

ViewRowDimensionSet

Hi,

I was looking at someone's code in creating a subset and view for cube data transfer and realize they use ViewRowDimensionSet.

I have never used this and wonder what benefit it brings. I searched around but found no answer.

Public Subset Alias Turned Off After Dimension Rebuild

Hi all,

I just found out that after rebuilding a dimension from load file, alias in dynamic subset will be turned off.

Is there any solution to this?

No it's the TM1 server message log that was suggested.
Hi Wim,

I checked the server log ("TM1server.log") and I realize one of the cubes I'm checking has feeders, I'll disable that. Thanks!

Re: Tracing cube load after unload

I'll start looking at dependency and rules to see if I can pinpoint the source.

Thanks again!

Re: Tracing cube load after unload

Thanks for the answers.

For the log, does it mean I have to make sure cube logging is on?

For the feeder, I checked and there's no feeder associated.

Tracing cube load after unload

Hi, We have a few cubes which we unload manually and have the Demand Load status updated to "Yes" in Cube Properties. Yet some of them are later started and we don't have any idea why. We want to know whether it is started by a user or something else, is there any way that we can find the informatio...

Re: MDX filter based on element value

This is perfect! I didn't know about currentmember.name. Thank you very much! You have a couple of issues here: 1/ [cbm_year] in the filter is something that it doesn't know what to do with - you would need to specify that it is the name from the currentmember you are wanting to use. 2/ Even then yo...

MDX filter based on element value

Trying to perform MDX with filter without success. I have a year dimension ("cbm_year"): From 1996 to 2050 all rolled up to "All Years". The MDX needs to filter out all years before 2012. I thought it should be really simple: {Filter( {TM1FILTERBYLEVEL( TM1DRILLDOWNMEMBER({[cbm_year].[All Years]}, A...

Re: Dynamic Subset with Expand Above

Thanks for the reply. For now my solution is break the relationship of the "(Net Profit)" by skipping a level in Gross Expenditures and Revenues. In doing so the dynamic subset reads each rollup separately and allow me to insert "(Net Profit)" as a separately item instead of it being related in the ...

Hi, I'm working on a dynamic subset and couldn't figure out what's wrong. I have a P&L dimension. Re: Running PA objects in 10.2

Thanks for the information. I'll have to check the version of PA and note this issue. Answer is no unless it is the latest version of 10.2.2 FP7 plus fix packs. There was a recent IF to 10.2.2 FP7 which correlated to a IF of PA 2.0.2 or 2.0.3 which introduced a change to format of cube files. If you...

I think as long as you have not used any of the new features of PA then the answer would be yes. Have you tried? I would do that before I would take anyone's word for it.

Running PA objects in 10.2

Hi,

Can cubes, dimensions, rules, TI etc. developed in PA be copied straightly and run in 10.2 w/o any modification?

I believe running 10.2 objects in PA is OK. Not sure the otherwise.

Thanks.
