Re: TM1 Applications Custom Views

Yes there is. 1) Build static views for each user (not optimum :D ) 2) if you define the relationship between the approval hierarchy nodes/user/whatever and the elements in the other dimension, you can use an MDX subset to provide the desired elements. For example, a lot of our views will default th...

Re: TI process taking too much time to create a subset

Here is a possible helpful hint for dealing with MDX subsets going forward: if an MDX statement with filters does not return any members, then SubsetCreateByMDX will fail. One thing to do in order to guarantee the MDX statement will compile (assuming of course the statement is syntactically correct)...

Re: Server Locked after save data process and save data is running for a long time .

IBM refuses to do anything more unless we hand over our entire model and data, which we do not do. Why would you not? "Hand over" is probably not good wording. You do know that their license agreement with you precludes them from disclosing any of your data, anywhere, for any reason? I guess your m...

Re: Dynamic Subset with Expand Above

This may do what you want: 1) create and save a subset named subDetailExpandedUp (or whatever you want) with Expand Above on your dimension with this code: EXCEPT( TM1DRILLDOWNMEMBER({[P&L Dim].[Net Profit]}, ALL, RECURSIVE), {[P&L Dim].[Net Profit]}) 2) Create a new subset with Expand Above off usi...

Re: Filtered by string measure in a 3 dimension cube

Hi all, I am wondering whether anyone has come across a situation like this: There is Cube with 3 dimensionS, Dim1, Dim2, DimMeasure. There is a string Measure element under DimMeasure lets called it StrMeasure. StringMeasure is only recorded in the N level elements of Dim1 and Dim2. Now I want to ...

Re: Exporting data from view to file consuming memory

Even if exporting simple data (with zero suppression on source temporary data form enabled) there's quite big RAM consumption. So it seems to me that correct feeding doesn't solve the issue... :-/ Any other suggestions? How about posting the actual code you used to create and zero suppress the view?

One of the suggestions is working with a professional in TM1 development.

Is your company not willing to hire someone to ramp up their in-house staff?

Re: Powershell to logoff and clean profile on another server

Might try changing to this:

Code: Select all

sCommand = 'Powershell D:\TEST\file.ps1 2>ErrorFile.txt';
and try to capture any errors the Powershell script is returning. The TI code looks fine.

Re: Return codes and error messages

Perhaps a useful tip, use a counter dimension (1...n) and add attributes for it to describe the error codes so they can be written to control cubes, output in messages, emails, etc.

Re: Direct version of dimension updates

While I cannot recall where exactly, some documentation stated that using the DIRECT functions does not allow TM1 to store the dimension in an "optimized" manner. Whatever that means, I do not know and have not explored it further. I use the DIRECT functions, but if making a significant number of ch...

Re: Query on SwapAliasWithPrincipalName

If you want to swap aliases based on subsets of elements, create an alias for swapping purposes only. Create your subset, update the alias only for your subset members, the swap the alias. The elements with unpopulated aliases will retain their original name as you probably know. I think you can use...

Re: TI Process slow

Sometimes the user interface is misleading as to what is really going on, e.g. seeming to be hanging up on the Epilog procedure. Your post does not mention if you have confirmed the observed performance in the server log itself by reviewing the time that Process 1 actually executes. Based on what el...

Re: PAX dependent drop down lists

Yes. You will need a mapping cube with the relationships between the departments and accounts, and an MDX subset on the Expense Accounts that uses the entry from the first (department) dropdown. You can get REALLY fancy and have the Expense Accounts subset even have previously selected accounts drop...

Re: Exporting data from view to file consuming memory

I think this is my problem here... All cells in the cube are calculated (and unfortunately not fed - the model is too complicated to be fed correctly but as far as I understand even exporting correctly fed cells won't solve the issue) so all memory is cunsumed by calculations and therefore not rele...

Noticed this again this morning and realised that PavoGa was on to something, the below will work and be more efficient that generate if your dimensions are large. {Filter( {[dim2].members}, [cub1].( StrToMember ( "[dim1].[" + [dim2].[attr_dim1_elm_name] + "]" ),[cub1_measure].[value])>1 )} Thanks,...
