Re: Merging of multiple elements

I suggest desired outcome may be better served by rethinking your cube structure. It seems that the Dept dim is nothing more than a place holder to collect the numeric measures for the various combinations of X, Y, P & Q and not a real part of an organization structure? Regardless, my thought is thi...

Re: Executing a process while the Drill through process Execution

You can create any custom view you want within the drill-through process. You can even create and populate a custom cube, build a view on it and open it. Unless it has changed in PA2.0, I do not believe you can use ReturnViewHandle in anything but a drill process. For using TM1RunTI and passing para...

Re: Create Dynamic Subset with User Input

Hi- I am trying to export the YTD results from a cube with Periods defined as "2018-01", "2018-02", etc. with a input from the user of the Year desired. For example, the user would input "2018", and the export would be for all months of 2018. As a part of my TI code, I know that the following works...

Re: Listing of all numerical TI process property values in .pro

For what it is worth, I used Beyond Compare 4.0 and have a script that does exactly what you are wanting to do it seems. Only TIs with significant (i.e. ignores the white noise) variances show up in the results window.

If interested, hit me up.

Re: TI process taking too much time to create a subset

Hello ty, Reading this topic, I think that the OP already does this. Your SubsetCreateByMDX is missing the dimension name as 3rd parameter, though. May have missed it, but do not see where the OP was using the UNION statement. This was a tip for going forward, not a specific response to the initial...

Re: I’m new to Tm1

Sorry, I have no advice on that, although I believe one can use JAVA with it.

It has its own language. Google TM1 Reference Guide (10.2.2 or PA2.0) and you should find documents to review.

Best is to work with someone who knows the product really well.

Re: I’m new to Tm1

Yes, it is to be any good at it. :D

Also, a good understanding of dimensional data structures is very helpful. I run into people all the time whose primary or only experience is with relational/flat data and they struggle getting the most out of TM1.

Good luck!

Re: TI process taking too much time to create a subset

Here is a possible helpful hint for dealing with MDX subsets going forward: if an MDX statement with filters does not return any members, then SubsetCreateByMDX will fail. One thing to do in order to guarantee the MDX statement will compile (assuming of course the statement is syntactically correct...

Re: Using dimension PickList to filter data on import to cube

You might want to add ASCIIOUTPUT or LOGOUTPUT in the ELSE block and output the values being tested and results. For example: ASCIIOUTPUT(sErrorFileName, EXPAND('--> %job_unique_id% %Planning_Project_Code%')); or LOGOUTPUT('ERROR', EXPAND('--> %job_unique_id% %Planning_Project_Code%')); I only use t...

Try storing the ASCII character for that in a variable and then SCAN for the variable.

Re: TM1 Applications Custom Views

Yes there is. 1) Build static views for each user (not optimum :D ) 2) if you define the relationship between the approval hierarchy nodes/user/whatever and the elements in the other dimension, you can use an MDX subset to provide the desired elements. For example, a lot of our views will default th...

Re: Server Locked after save data process and save data is running for a long time .

IBM refuses to do anything more unless we hand over our entire model and data, which we do not do. Why would you not? "Hand over" is probably not good wording. You do know that their license agreement with you precludes them from disclosing any of your data, anywhere, for any reason? I guess your m...

Re: Dynamic Subset with Expand Above

This may do what you want: 1) create and save a subset named subDetailExpandedUp (or whatever you want) with Expand Above on your dimension with this code: EXCEPT( TM1DRILLDOWNMEMBER({[P&L Dim].[Net Profit]}, ALL, RECURSIVE), {[P&L Dim].[Net Profit]}) 2) Create a new subset with Expand Above off usi...

Re: Filtered by string measure in a 3 dimension cube

Hi all, I am wondering whether anyone has come across a situation like this: There is Cube with 3 dimensionS, Dim1, Dim2, DimMeasure. There is a string Measure element under DimMeasure lets called it StrMeasure. StringMeasure is only recorded in the N level elements of Dim1 and Dim2. Now I want to ...

Re: Exporting data from view to file consuming memory

Even if exporting simple data (with zero suppression on source temporary data form enabled) there's quite big RAM consumption. So it seems to me that correct feeding doesn't solve the issue... :-/ Any other suggestions? How about posting the actual code you used to create and zero suppress the view?
