Re: How does one collapse the consolidations in Workspace hierarchy editor

Found it. In the hierarchy editor, right-click the element and there is an option to collapse all. :?

How does one collapse the consolidations in Workspace hierarchy editor

In the Architect subset editor, there is a button that will collapse the consolidations, fairly simply and straightforward. Is there anything remotely resembling that in the hierarchy editor in PA2/Workspace since one cannot deal with hierarchies in the Architect subset editor? I guess I could ADD T...

Re: Bug with HierarchyAttrPutS

BTW, the other workaround I want to try is updating the caption attribute in }ElementAttributes_}Dimensions and using a rule to populate it in }DimensionsAttributes.

Re: Bug with HierarchyAttrPutS

Most are temporary. Have not tested if there is a difference. Yes, have read that thread before and do not see any negative sides to using CubeSaveData in our situation. That thread actually recommends CubeSaveData over SaveDataAll when needing to commit cube changes. But this is what is odd. I coul...

Bug with HierarchyAttrPutS

We believe we have identified what seems to be a bug in PA2.0. If HierarchyAttrPutS is used to update a dimension caption AND is followed by a subsequent SubsetCreateByMDX , the caption update goes away. The only way to prevent this is to execute a CubeSaveData(}DimensionAttributes) before the next ...

Re: Getting the last date of a month in TI

Hello Wim and PavoGa, many thanks for your inspiring suggestion. Yes I use some Kind of serialisation. Here the workaround (all in TI, not in rules): intM2_brutto = intSourceMonth + intNumberOfMonthToShift; intM2_brutto = intM2_brutto + 1; intM2 = MOD ( 599 + intM2_brutto, 12) + 1 ; intY2 = intSour...

Re: Using Dates And Times In TM1

For what's worth, I use a calendar dimension with all the attributes set for a particular day. The day dimension is integers with American and European data style aliases. Mine runs back to the 1920s. For information I cannot easily get from a TI or rule function, it is an attribute. All kinds of th...

Re: Hierarchy attribute issues

Good gracious. Figured this one out. Kind of too deep in and could not see the forest for the trees. Problem is the overwrite of the caption containing the default name was not being committed. So updating the new hierarchy's caption was failing because it was checking committed data, not the cached...

Hierarchy attribute issues

Using an attribute "Caption" on the hierarchies. This is an alias in both }DimensionAttributes and }ElementAttributes_}Dimensions . If the hierarchy is the current default hierarchy in use, it has a default value for the caption, say "Accounts Planning." }ElementAttributes_}Dimensions Caption attrib...

Re: When is a "hierarchy" not a hierarchy

I'm with you on this one. Pretty much insist our teams adopt and use specific terminology to describe discrete items, sets of items or objects. We adopted rollup to describe what we use to call hierarchies as you described. What we have found is a need to manage hierarchies, in terms of historical v...

Re: Hierarchy Caption attribute

Have found what I would consider to be a bug in the HierarchyExists function. This: # none of these objects exist. cubTest = 'SEC'; dimTest = 'Eastern Division'; sElement = 'Georgia'; subTest = sTmp; nCubeExists = CubeExists(cubTest); nCubeExists2 = CubeExists(''); nDimExists = DimensionExists(dimTe...

Re: Hierarchy Caption attribute

Looks like the only way to do what I want is adding an alias attribute to }Dimensions through the regular ATTRINSERT function. PAW does not seem to use the caption from }ElementAttributes_}Dimensions , so have to maintain the alias in two places. }ElementAttributes_}Dimensions for getting the primar...

One additional thought: may be possible to do this without doing all the UNIONs I was thinking about. Will try it and let you know.

Re: Tm1 MDX - set element collapse using element name in dimension

Thanks @PavoGa But, I would like to pass the element to drill down the particular element in dimension and save to subset or dimension itself. Example; A1 Consolidated A2 Consolidated A3 Consolidated When i passs A2 drilldown, then the result should be A1 A2 .... A21 .... A22 .....A23 A3 and save i...

Re: Hierarchy Caption attribute

Not sure if this is: 1. possible 2. efficient or overkill, but you could check whether the dimension }Hierarchies_ dim exists in step 1. If yes, you could do a Dimix > 0 on the hierarchy name within that dimension. Do you see both names in that dimension ('Accounts Forecast' and 'AF1' ) ? Thank, Wi...

Hierarchy Caption attribute

I know I'm wearing this out, but keep running into speed bumps with this stuff. Added a caption attribute as an alias for dimensions (DimensionAttrInsert) which works beautifully in that I have hierarchies named AF1, AF2, ... and set the aliases so that AF1 displays as "Accounts Forecast", AF2 as "A...

Thank you, Lotsaram. That took care of it.

 I should have tried that. I'd seen the syntax for that in other places and just did not connect the dots on it.

Hierarchy as a Datasource

Quick question: can a dimension hierarchy be used as a datasource? Tried it by creating a hierarchy subset and then the following: sMDX = 'TM1FILTERBYLEVEL(TM1SUBSETALL( [Accounts Master].[Statistical Categories]), 0)'; HierarchySubsetCreate(dimAccountsMaster, hierStatisticalCategories, subStatistic...
