PAW MDX Query

Hi, I have two dims in my model where one is a deeper hierarchy than the other, but the first 3 levels from the top are the same in both. I have a cube which allows a user to select a member from the smaller dim and then tries to pass the selection in the larger dim via MDX to a subset. I then want ...

Re: PAW - Attribute hierarchies, Element Security

Thanks for your input.

I stumbled across a TI function called HierarchyElementSecurityPut which will allow me to populate the element security how I needed.

PAW - Attribute hierarchies, Element Security

I have a process which rebuilds attribute hierarchies overnight for 3 dimensions in my model. HierarchyDestroy('DimName', 'AttributeName'); CreateHierarchyByAttribute('DimName', 'AttributeName'); What I am finding is, when the attribute hierarchy is created the default security against those element...

Re: Planning Analytics - Refresh Attribute Hierarchies

I'll take a look further Wim.

You would have thought IBM would have considered making this a bit easier than having to manually create TI's yourself especially when they are driving the user via GUI to create them in the first place.

Planning Analytics - Refresh Attribute Hierarchies

Hi, I'm just messing around with creating Attribute based hierarchies in PAw. From what I understand so far any changes in dimensional structure and/or changes in attribute values will not automatically refresh the attribute hierarchy. Is there a command that can be run via TI to do this? Thanks

Re: MTQ Question - Not using more CPU

Running TI's are single threaded, the MTQ setting is specifically for opening views.

There was mention of making TI's multithreaded at the IBM update I was at last year, not sure what the update currently is.

Thanks both, I suspected as much. I'd been heading down the attribute route since I posted this.

Parent Element in Subset

Is there away of returning an element parent from a subset source within a TI?

The dimension I am using has multiple hierarchies contained within in it, therefore the standard Elpar function returns the parent for the 1st hierarchy it comes across.

Thanks

Re: Securing dilemma

Thanks David,

Do you believe this would work in a IBM cloud environment when the security mode is set to 5. I presume I would still be able to add TM1 groups to the model via that process as normal and assign those users.

Re: Perspectives hang when performing a slice or snapshot to Excel

Does the user have any other excel add-ins loaded? If so try disabling them all and then testing again. I remember TM1 having issues with certain other add-ins previously but I can't really remember the exact issues experienced or which add-ins caused it. I've had a similar issue when CAFE or PAx w...

Securing dilemma

Morning All, I have a projects dimension in a forecasting cube where a single Project manager is assigned to each project (the n level element). We have around 80 PM's in the business and data needs to to be secured on a project level, i.e a single PM can only see their own projects. As we can't set...

Uninstall the client and then try to open PM from the PMPSVC page, you should be prompted to install again.

User Defined Consolidations - PAx

Afternoon all, I currently have an issue with User defined consolidations within PAx, the customer has migrated their old 10.2 server to PA 2.0 where they had some views referencing a user defined consolidation. When we now attempt to pull in the view into worksheet within PAx they now error with th...
