Re: Txn Log - Empty CHANGE SET ID

I was after the same information, so I have done some digging around and this is what I have discovered, may not be all the situations * A manual change either via the cube viewer or Excel sheet with DBR/DBRW formuales creates a SET ID, I assume to support the Undo capability * An update in a TI usi...

Re: Selecting whole text in TI tab

Jim,

Not sure if I have offended you. Apologies If I have.

All I was trying to determine was if I was missing something on how to use this as I couldn't get it to paste properly and deal with the generated statements.

I was hoping that someone was going to suggest a little trick to handle that

Re: Selecting whole text in TI tab

Jim, I am stilling missing the trick, so I see it helps when you are pasting into a new TI tab, that is blank. Then you delete the two generated lines. Debatable as to whether the good old fashioned crtl/shift/end from the first line of the code isn't actually quicker. If I am migrating a change to ...

Re: Selecting whole text in TI tab

Hi Jim,

That's my point, it will select the generated lines in both source and target, which means you have to revert to a manual method, like Ctrl/Shift/End.

I was just wondering if there was something I was missing that meant selecting everything helped.

Re: Selecting whole text in TI tab

When does this help you? It also selects the two special lines, which means you can only copy an paste it to another editor, but when you copy it back you have to then select the old fashioned way otherwise you can't paste back, am I missing some advantage of this? #****Begin: Generated Statements**...

Re: Alternative way to feed

Hi Matt, Thank you again for your response. I have always steered clear of persistent feeders, for reasons that I'm sure many would have counter arguments for, so won't even mention them. :D I do not restart instances for months and months at a time so I guess I am looking for something that can imp...

Re: Alternative way to feed

Hi Matt, I tried the lookup as suggested, it didn't make any noticeable difference to the start-up times. I have revert to an unconventional solution. I have used a single measure called Day_Flag, which is fed if any calculation is performed on a given day, this is then the only measure I have used ...

Re: Alternative way to feed

Hi Matt, Thank you for your suggestions, see my reply below 1) Do all your versions need to be dynamic? A quick way to eliminate a lot of feeders (and calculated cells) would be to freeze of data that's not subject to change. Not sure if you're doing this via your feeder-- it's hard to tell since yo...

Alternative way to feed

Hi there, I am looking for some advice on how to improve the time this feeder takes to evaluate during start-up or save, currently about 1 hour. Technically the target cube is fed correctly and the usage is performant, but I am designing a similar set of monthly and weekly cubes for another part of ...

Re: Cell Security on Drill through

Thanks both for the replies, lotsaram: Users belong to multiple groups some that control individual elements access, others that refer to a node in the hierarchy for the controlling dimension. I'll see if I can work on what you are referring to to use the TM1User function. paulsimon: element securit...

Cell Security on Drill through

Hi All, Looking for some suggestions. I have been asked to investigate Drill through to an Oracle database for some employee Actuals, which is simple enough using the functionality in TM1. The actual employee cube has cell security so that users who don't belong to certain groups can't see employee ...

Re: N cells populated from S Consolidation

Hi lotsaram, You had me intrigued as I never knew that about strings, so I tried it, and it didn't work on 10.2.2 FP1. Suppress zero suppresses all values in Measure1, but if I put a value in any of the items 1..10 for MeasureString the feeder fires and feeds as expected. I would love to understand ...

Re: N cells populated from S Consolidation

I don't think that will do what you need. Feeder always fire from the children of the parent specified, so unless any of the 100 children for MeasureString Total have anything in them it won't fire. Also if for some reason you do have something in one of those 100 elements it will fire to all 100 el...

Re: MTQ with TM1 10.2.2 under W2003Server for TI

Hi kangkc, You commented above on this post about an issue with the VIEWCONSTRUCT cached view not being used in the Data tab. I have exactly the same issue, and have tried all sort of things to get around it. Basically I can see the VIEWCONSTRUCT building the view, but the Data tab totally ignores t...

Re: Making TM1Web Behave (For TM1Web API)

I appreciate this is an old post, but actually addresses exactly what I want to do, however I can't get this to work. I have a Menu page and I have created two hyperlinks using the api syntax, one to a cubeview and another to a websheet. If I click on the menu page another webpage window is opened, ...
