Re: Issue with feeders

I think there used to sometimes be an issue if the time stamp on the blb? generated by the advanced rules editor came out of sync with the rux file. It’s been ages since I have seen it so it’s a long shot but I do think I saw it on site with you guys so might be worth a look.

Re: Using dimension PickList to filter data on import to cube

In TM1 picklists are purely a user interface restriction, TI and/or rules can ignore them.
The only way around it is to place logic in the TI that performs the same function, so as its a dimension picklist you have mentioned you would have an If Dimix in the TI.

Re: Public Subset Alias Turned Off After Dimension Rebuild

Just rebuilding a dimension should not remove aliases from that dimensions subsets, if that is happening without any other actions then it would be a bug. What i expect is happening is that the TI to rebuild the dimension also destroys and recreates the MDX subset from scratch, in which case TM1 wou...

Re: TM1 Applications Custom Views

You can have an attribute in the product dimension that holds the name of the BU that you want to show it for and then put MDX like below in the product dimension: {Filter({[Product].members},[Product].[BU]= [BU].currentmember.name )} In that example I have shown the Product dimension as being calle...

Re: TI process taking too much time to create a subset

Ok, then I would do a bit of trial and error testing on 2 things: 1/ just create your subset with a simple while loop in your actual TI instead of bedrock 2/ just create the subset with MDX in your actual TI instead of bedrock - make static in the prolog as well 3 / leave the dimensions aith no subs...

Re: Same rules within the cube

Do you mean that the cells in question now have no rules applied to them? As in the cell can be edited by typing into it? If so and the rule has only changed as you show to pull from 1 account instead of another then I would expect it is due to its position in the rule file and there is probably a S...

Re: TI process taking too much time to create a subset

Assuming that your source view has skip consolidations enabled just dont create a subset and for that dimension leave the cube view with no subset assigned, it will default to just taking every element and due to having skip consolidations ticked it would only be n level elements.

Re: How to set TM1 Perspectives to use Excel 2010

If you navigate to the tm1p.xla file in the TM1 bin directory (you can get there by right clicking on your perspectives shortcut, "open file location" and then selecting "properties" on the file it takes you to - this will show the bin directory and file path.) On the tm1p.xla file right click and s...

Re: MDX filter based on element value

You have a couple of issues here: 1/ [cbm_year] in the filter is something that it doesn't know what to do with - you would need to specify that it is the name from the currentmember you are wanting to use. 2/ Even then you would be comparing string with a number You could easily do it if you had a ...

You got pretty close and had all the constituent parts ready, the the below: {Filter( {[version].members}, [version].[created by user] = StrToMember ( "[}Clients].[" + UserName + "]" ).name ) } Edit - a second thought on how you are actually populating the attribute; maybe the attribute held against...

Re: Import data from SQL table into TM1 cube with user input

Just have different measures for the user inputs as compared to the data load, then when the TI runs you just zero out the part it will load to and leave the rest of the cube alone.

Hi, i've tried that but I face the same problem. The type error is different, but didnot work too. Thanks What was the different error message that it gave you? When you tried Pauls idea to copy from your dev environment, did you only copy the vue file? If the vue relied on subsets that didnt exist...

I had a similar requirement at one point that meant users needed to “lose” access during certain super user tasks, basically so they didnt see the work in progress that was a super uaer setting up the system - it was a long time ago but I basically had 2 TIs. One ran at the start which copied the }C...

I assume you have a view with one of your dimensions as the columns and you want to apply security on a read/write/dont see basis to the elements (columns) you see in that dimension. If sonyou are looking for element security, you can right click on the dimension in question and select the element s...

Re: Add attributes to control dimension

There was definitely a version where you could use a normal picklist attribute but if I remember correctly it was something like 10.1 and it was something that hadn't been possible before and then in a later version got removed again, it caused problems with an upgrade I did where the functionality ...

Re: Add attributes to control dimension

I seem to recall that in certain versions you needed a picklist cube to be able to add picklists to control dimensions but in other versions you could do it by a picklist attribute. Im not sure which versions it is as for certainty i always use a picklist cube now.

Re: prevent the user from reading the machine name when calling "tm1web" and "pmpsvc"

You can change the hosts file on the users PCs. Assuming the security is quite locked down that could easily be done by IT en masse and the users wouldn’t be able to access the file to see the contents. If you haven’t worked with a hosts file before it’s simple and just has an address for what you t...

Re: TM1 service restart times

Haven’t seen this in a while but the transaction logs used to be a big culprit of this. Obviously when a server goes down unexpectedly it may not have saved transactions to disk so when it starts back up it searches through the transaction logs - if you have some beastly files in there it can take a...

Must admit I’ve not used tm1 top in a while but if you’ve copied from an old version I would guess that your ssl certs could be out of sync.
