Re: Import data from SQL table into TM1 cube with user input

Just have different measures for the user inputs as compared to the data load, then when the TI runs you just zero out the part it will load to and leave the rest of the cube alone.

Re: Error on view creation

Hi, i've tried that but I face the same problem. The type error is different, but didnot work too. Thanks What was the different error message that it gave you? When you tried Pauls idea to copy from your dev environment, did you only copy the vue file? If the vue relied on subsets that didnt exist...

Re: Block TM1 usage during upgrade / migration

I had a similar requirement at one point that meant users needed to “lose” access during certain super user tasks, basically so they didnt see the work in progress that was a super uaer setting up the system - it was a long time ago but I basically had 2 TIs. One ran at the start which copied the }C...

Re: security

I assume you have a view with one of your dimensions as the columns and you want to apply security on a read/write/dont see basis to the elements (columns) you see in that dimension. If sonyou are looking for element security, you can right click on the dimension in question and select the element s...

Re: Add attributes to control dimension

There was definitely a version where you could use a normal picklist attribute but if I remember correctly it was something like 10.1 and it was something that hadn't been possible before and then in a later version got removed again, it caused problems with an upgrade I did where the functionality ...

Re: Add attributes to control dimension

I seem to recall that in certain versions you needed a picklist cube to be able to add picklists to control dimensions but in other versions you could do it by a picklist attribute. Im not sure which versions it is as for certainty i always use a picklist cube now.

Re: prevent the user from reading the machine name when calling "tm1web" and "pmpsvc"

You can change the hosts file on the users PCs. Assuming the security is quite locked down that could easily be done by IT en masse and the users wouldn’t be able to access the file to see the contents. If you haven’t worked with a hosts file before it’s simple and just has an address for what you t...

Re: TM1 service restart times

Haven’t seen this in a while but the transaction logs used to be a big culprit of this. Obviously when a server goes down unexpectedly it may not have saved transactions to disk so when it starts back up it searches through the transaction logs - if you have some beastly files in there it can take a...

Must admit I’ve not used tm1 top in a while but if you’ve copied from an old version I would guess that your ssl certs could be out of sync.

Re: Date held as number but formatted as date

TM1s default date starts I think in 1960 whereas Microsoft is 1900 or something like that.
TM1 introduced a CFG a while ago called UseExcelSerialDate (I think) that will make the two align.

By default they should already be restricted, a non admin user should only be able to create private subsets/views.

Re: MDX filter on cube values for different dimension

Noticed this again this morning and realised that PavoGa was on to something, the below will work and be more efficient that generate if your dimensions are large.

Code: Select all

{Filter(
	{[dim2].members},
	[cub1].( StrToMember ( "[dim1].[" + [dim2].[attr_dim1_elm_name] + "]" ),[cub1_measure].[value])>1
	)}

Re: How to add validation error message for users?

If the mapping will never change you can put an attribute on dimension B saying which element it maps to from A (this is really a mapping dive anyway) and/or you can have consolidations of element A in dim b but without really understanding the relationship of what these dims are it’s hard to say wh...

Re: TM1 Active Form is returning Zeros even when suppress zero is set to True/1. Please help

Apologies to ask a basic question but it is actually something Willi has asked twice in this thread and unless I am missing it I can't see an answer... is the issue that a row containing all zeroes is still showing? Or are you expecting a column containing all zeroes to be hidden? If its the latter,...

Re: }CellSecurity

Wim Gielis, thank you for the hint about TI. I understand the purpose, but not sure how it works. Is the functionality the same as if it was a CellSecurity cube without "}", and security from it should be ruled to the other cubes (I don't see any rules that refer to it), or it actually automaticall...

Re: MDX filter on cube values for different dimension

The below code first filters to get all the elements in dim1 that match your criteria of exceeding a value of 1 in the cube. It then uses the generate to do a while loop of those elements and for each of those; dim2 is filtered to where the attribute matches the dim1 element name. Note that due to t...

Re: Using Dates And Times In TM1

Do you mean create 2 numeric measures in tm1 and format these as dates? I did mean that - you would format them using the element attributes. If so I am not holding the start and end dates in TM1 I am just using the start and end date to drive some logic in the TI process. So these dates only exist...

Re: Using Dates And Times In TM1

Incidentally I got round the problem of validating the dates by validating them on the websheet, so I have a new parameter, pValidDate and if a cell on the websheet shows invalid the process errros saying the dates are invalid! You could just have them input to a numeric cell that is formatted as a...

Re: Add CAM Users

Hi Jim, When you go to add users and the CAM screen comes up there should be a tick box in the top left that says "Show users in the list", if you tick that then you should be able to find the CAM users. Its annoying that this isn't ticked by default since you have already told it that you are wanti...
