Re: Drill Rule to Block users from running the process on select accounts
Hi Michael I am not really working with TM1 at the moment, but the approach that you are taking is fine. It will disable Drill Thru on the selected Accounts. However, there is probably more to this than first meets the eye. I am assuming that the reason that you don't want users to drill on these Ac...

Re: ODBC to Oracle - Hanging
Hi One solution to preventing the query running when you just open the TI is to change the data source to a zero suppressed view on an empty cube that just has a lot of dimensions. You then override this on the Prolog to change the data source to ODBC. That way nothing will run when you just open th...

Re: What do IBM still have to do to replace Perspectives with PAW and PAX
Hi In my last contract I decided to try working exclusively with PAW Modeler and PAX for a month. In the course of that month I compiled a 50 page document of things that I could not do, of things that did not work, of things that could be improved. That got send across to IBM. Instead of appreciati...

Re: AX to D365
Hi This may be a bit out of date now, but 10 years ago we used TI to extract data directly via ODBC from the SQL Server database underlying MS Dynamics - it was just transitioning from being called Great Plains at the time. Not sure how much it has changed in Dynamics 365. Anyway this is perfectly p...

Re: PAX 2.0.67.7 Add-ins not saving
Hi Are you able to add other Add Ins or is it only the PAX Add In that has this problem? If you get the same issue with other Add Ins, it is possible that your IT department has locked down your profile so that changes to it cannot be saved. You will need to contact them. If you can show hidden fold...

Re: Hide button Based on a condition in an active form
Hi As far as I know there is no way to hide a button without using VBA. Presumably you are using this on a Web Sheet and therefore VBA is not an option. While you cannot hide the button, you can alter what the button does and what it means. For example, we use sheets where we have one Action Button ...

Re: CELL STATUS
Hi Micheline To the best of my knowledge, there is no way to do that in an Active Form, unless you resort to VBA, which has never been an option for me as all sheets are deployed as Web Sheets in TM1 Web or PAW. However, if you understand the rules and security on the cube, you can normally predict ...

Re: Merge Date Dimensions from different servers
Hi A possible solution is Add a Web Sheet to the PAW book Sync to the Date Dimension on that. Put a SUBNM on that for the Date2 Dimension where the element parameter references the currently selected Date Dimenstion element's SUBNM Sync your other PAW Grid that uses the Date2 Dimension to the Date2 ...

Re: Cognos PA can not connect to ClickHouse via ODBC
Hi All I can suggest is checking that you have a 64 bit ODBC driver and that you have the latest driver installed. Not too sure exactly what ClickHouse is. It claims to be an OLAP database, and a Columnar database and a NoSQL database. Whichever of those it is, it is not a standard SQL relational da...

Re: Cognos PA can not connect to ClickHouse via ODBC
Hi
Try adding one of the following to your TM1S.CFG
# UseSQLFetch=T
# UseSQLFetchScroll = T
# UseSQLExtendedFetch = T
From memory, the first is the most basic form of ODBC that should be supported.
Regards
Paul Simon

Re: Publish MDX views
Hi Wim While what you say is true, I somehow doubt that a user is going to want to save a view in PAW, then open it in PAX, extract the MDX and paste it into the parameter area of a TI process which will then run to create the MDX view. I am guessing that the original poster already has something th...

Re: Publish MDX views
Hi I can't say that I have tried it but if you take the MDX from the view, you should be able to pass that as a parameter to a TI process and then that can create a public MDX view. Probably easier to automate if the view is created in PAX rather than PAW. If created in PAW you would probably need t...

Re: Opinions & Best Practices for Front-end Design
Hi When it comes to typing in a value and seeing the result immediately, a single user working on their own data is probably always going to get a better response from an Excel sheet. However, planning is not about working alone. We still have some users who do spreadsheet based collections and then...

Re: Help Needed - MDX Dynamic Subset based on Cubevalues
Hi BR Another approach that I have used is to add an attribute to the dimension Jahre eg Selected Year You can then put a rule into the }ElementAttributes_Jahre cube which sets the Attribute to Y based on some condition eg the equivalent value in the Tag dimension. Then in your MDX you can just reco...

Re: Rule set value to zero
Hi As Wim says you should continue to use rules to set values to zero to prevent data entry, but you need to tune your feeders to avoid feeding them. You can rely on security to prevent data entry. However, the issue there is that this will probably only block an end-user. It will not block an Admin...

Re: Months and TimePeriod
Hi manu I have updated my Month Dimension Generator to include a Period Totals Named Hierarchy. This includes consolidations giving the sum of the same period across all years, and a Full Year consolidation of those periods. With this, in PAX or PAW you can use, for example, the Periods and Full Yea...

Re: Months and TimePeriod
Hi Manu You need to create a proper Named Hierarchy, not just an alternate hierarchy. Check the TI Reference guide. Do not bother with Attribute Hierarchies. Create a Named Hierarchy, and use HierarchyElementInsert and HierarchyElementComponentAdd to build the month consolidations. Regards Paul Simon

Re: Months and TimePeriod
Hi If you are actually on PA, then you should be able to use Named Hierarchies to do this. This is because with Named Hierarchies in a dimension you can show one Named Hierarchy on the rows and another on columns, I assume that at present, you have one dimension with months like 2020-01, 2020-02 ---...

Re: MDX question
Hi Mario If the last month with data is random then there is certainly no easy bit of MDX that will do this. However, what is the business logic here? I am guessing that period 08 is your current period and therefore you want to show all periods up to this regardless of whether they have actuals, bu...

Re: Create MDX View To Suppress Rule-Defined Cells
Hi Adam
If you submit your MDX using the Rest API, then in the ODATA query you can retrieve something that tells you whether the cell is rule calculated. However, I do not know a way of doing it in MDX alone.
